For each of the values of V -- i.e. for the same velocity of the electrons -- plot a graph of coil current I vs. 1/r, the curvature of the orbit. The graphs may all be plotted on a single sheet of graph paper.
From the results derived in the General Discussion, show that for each value of V the curve of I vs. 1/r should be a straight line. How well do the experimental points fall on the straight lines? Determine the slope of each of these lines and verify that the dependence of the slope on V is in agreement with the equation for the straight line graph (which you have derived). For each curve, determine a value of . The average of these values should yield a value of consistent with the preliminary measurement.
Using the best (average) value of , compute a value of e/m for each measurement made. Compare the average of these values with the accepted value.
